WOLFSBURG BUSES
march 55 to early 56

You might see someone refer to their truck or bus as a "wolfsburg bus".  Even though the "barndoor" era ended in march of 55, all buses and trucks kept many of the same features that a barndoor (50-mar55) had, until production in Wolfsburg Germany was ended in early 56 and moved to Hannover Germany. Some of the Wolfsburg features include:

3 piece doglegs

Striped left battery tray as opposed to circular impression.

Barndoor frame with tubular tranny support

no lip around the fresh air intake.
wolfsbrgvent.jpg (23325 bytes)

3 piece inner construction decklid

All of these parts were used until the plant move in early 56, although you may see some Wolfsburg buses with newer Hannover parts.
